Variables is a non-profit community art space working to connect the community through creative and interactive events.

Our mission is to enhance community engagement with art through public events, to make art accessible for all levels of interest and income and to foster interaction and collaboration with the community through art.

Our community gallery hosts rotating group shows where the public can come together for a shared experience and learn from each other through artistic expression.

Meet The Founder

Mary Hlastala is the Founder and Executive Director of Variables. She studied Illustration and Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta before earning a B.S. in Mathematics from Portland State University. After six years running a non-profit mentoring girls, she wanted to create a space where art connects people to their community.
