Art making doesn't have to be intimidating. Let us show you the basic tools and techniques to get you started in the exciting world of drawing. Whether you're brand new to drawing or need a refresher, we'll get you back to basics and ignite your inner artist.

What's Included:

• Intro to Drawing Tools: We'll explore a range of drawing pencils, blending stumps, erasers and papers and understand how each can influence your artwork.

• Drawing Techniques: Delve into essential drawing techniques like shading, shadow and light to add depth and texture to your creations.

• Hands-on Exercises: Engage in guided activities that let you practice and implement the techniques covered, providing a practical learning environment.

Materials:

• Drawing pencils ranging from soft to hard

• Blending stumps

• Kneaded and white erasers

• Drawing papers

Feel free to bring your own supplies or use ours! A sketchbook or anything else you'd like to play with during this time is more than welcomed.

Mary is the Founder and Executive Director of Variables. She has been a lifelong creator, starting from childhood where drawing became a regular practice. She studied Illustration and Design at The Art Institute of Atlanta and combines both training and experience in helping others explore the joy of art making.
