Our full day intensive, "Creativity and Connections" is open to anyone looking for a creative outlet. You do not need to be an artist to create here!

Join instructors Mary Hlastala and Marjorie Maffett as they show you how a creative practice is a powerful tool for self-discovery, connection, and self-care. This full day workshop will help you to let go of perfectionism and learn to explore art-making that is centered around your own intuition and the creativity that lives inside you already.

Fee includes all materials, morning coffee, lunch and snacks.

MYTHS WE TELL OURSELVES
"I'm not creative."
Engaging in art-making as a means of healing and self-exploration doesn't require any particular skill or knowledge. In fact, anyone can tap into the power of their creativity and intuition, regardless of their artistic abilities. Think about a room filled with kindergartners, their unfiltered enthusiasm and lack of self-doubt as they grab a marker and dive into their artwork. That innate sense of freedom and playfulness still resides within each of us, even if it's buried beneath layers of judgment and responsibilities.
"I'm not good at art."

Society often conditions us to believe that if we're not good at something, it's not worth our time. But that notion is simply untrue, especially when it comes to art-making. Science has proven that engaging in creative activities is incredibly beneficial for our well-being. The value lies not in the final product, but in the transformative journey that occurs within us while we create. It's about the connection to our inner selves and the sense of peace that ensues.

"I don't have enough experience."

Sometimes, the most profound creations emerge from a place of spontaneity and surrender. Allow your intuition to guide your hand, letting the colors and shapes take form without constraints. Embrace the freedom of letting go and trust in the process.
What's included?
A Safe Space: No skills or experience needed (in fact, we strongly encourage those who have not been creative in years to find solace in a new creative practice).
Guided Prompts: Sometimes the hardest part of being creative is the blank page. We'll get you thinking creatively with simple, accessible prompts to unleash your creative process.
Room to Play: By using our supplies, you can explore different mediums without the commitment of buying art supplies or creating a studio in your home. We’ll set everything up, give you the space to work, and clean up when you’re done. All you need is a willingness to play and discover. Simply show up as you are.
Community: Art making is generally a solitary experience but the full day intensive gets you connected to others in a shared space. The energy that brings can open up a world of creative possibilities and connection.
